i recently visited the museum of contemporary craft for the first time here in portland, oregon. it was quite an awesome experience and rekindled my love for craft. what was quite inspiring was the main exhibit, a look at nikki mcclure's work, which is simple and very graphic but quite moving. a lot of line work, a lot of very happy and peaceful energy. just by looking at the piece, you can tell that the process of cutting out each design is extremely meditative for her. based on her quotes and what she says about her work, i really love her outlook on life and art-making as well.
aside from that, the various pieces and streaming video interviews of different kinds of artists was a whirlwind of inspiration. would definitely recommend it if you find yourself downtown portland!
